Clark County Parks and Recreation Bennett Field Rules
In order to promote safe model aviation recreation at Bennett Field all current Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), Las Vegas Radio Control (LVRC), and Clark County Parks and Recreation park rules must be followed.
1. AMA Membership - All pilots must possess a current AMA membership card . All pilots must produce their AMA card and/or Turbine waiver upon request.
2. Safe Flying - All flying must operate within the designated Bennett Field Operational Area. Aircraft may not be operated within 25 feet of any individual except for pilot, pilot’s helper and during take-off and landing. 3D flying or hovering must not obstruct other flying traffic over or near the paved runway when other pilots are flying. Park Flyer planes may fly in the designated area on the Southwest side of the field when not being used by control line fliers. The use of a spotter is recommended. Pilots are required
to follow “See and Avoid” procedures.
3. Established Safe flying Areas - All flying must occur within established safety lines, yellow deadline and fences. Flying behind the yellow deadline is prohibited. Grass areas directly in front of the picnic shelters extending to the Runway, and behind the pilot boxes are no-fly areas.

4. Children Under 6 Years of Age - Only persons associated with flying the model aircraft are allowed in front of the safety/spectator fence.
5. Pit Area Usage - Aircraft shall not taxi in pits or access areas. All aircraft assembly, set-up, preparation and maintenance must be
done in designated areas. Refueling or starting aircraft on the picnic tables, at shelters, or in the parking lot is prohibited.
6. Visual Control of Aircraft - The pilot of an aircraft shall maintain control of the aircraft during the entire flight and maintain visual contact without enhancement other than by corrective lenses prescribed for the pilot. Flying using the assistance of a camera (First-Person-View (FPV)) is prohibited except in accordance with AMA procedures which require a spotter who can operate the aircraft and maintain line of sight (LOS) as outlined in AMA Document #550.. 7 Helicopters - Helicopter pilots must fly in the designated helicopter area and remain clear of the runway. Pilots wishing to fly helicopters on any part of the runway must be positioned in a runway pilot box and follow the established traffic pattern.
8. Noise - All aircraft must conform to AMA noise standard of 98db. Aircraft not conforming to the noise standard will be grounded
9. Removal of Flight Privileges - Clark County will restrict or remove any persons that do not follow posted safety rules or that use
Bennett Field in a dangerous or prohibited manner.
10. Field Use and Management – All users of Bennett Field must leave the facility in a clean and orderly condition. Aircraft landing outside the designated airfield area must be retrieved and all associated debris removed.
The Las Vegas Radio Control Club (LVRC) operates Bennett Field pursuant to AMA rules under the direction of Clark County Parks and Recreation. LVRC is authorized to provide direction and rule guidance regarding airfield activities and events.
