Reporting Bennett Field Rules Violations/Accidents
We need your help to properly address rule violations. Bennett Field Rules are simple.
Keep in mind that Bennett field is not restricted only to members of the LVRCC club. There are other clubs that fly at this field. Therefore, access to Bennett and flying there is allowed to anyone possessing a membership with the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Also, some type of aircraft, such as large model planes with wingspans that are longer than your height and outstretched arms, can only be launched from the runway at Bennett, while other smaller aircraft, such as drones and model planes with a wingspan shorter than the length of your arms outstretched, can be launched from anywhere at or outside of Bennett field. We will do our best to address violations that have been identified to have originated at Bennett field.
Below is the current flying box as defined by the LOA and FAA agreement.
- First, a membership with the Academy of Model Aeronautics is required to fly any R/C aircraft at Bennett.
- Second, all R/C Pilots are expected to observe, adhere to, and honor the site's approved flight zone, marked in red in the below map, i.e. No flying over the residential communities, Star Nursery field and the Sam Boyd Soccer stadium.
- Third, max permissible altitude for any R/C aircraft at Bennett is, 2000AGL( with advanced FAA notice).
- Last but not least, all AMA pilots flying at Bennett have familiarized themselves with the AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code.
